SATURDAY, OCTOBER 8

GARLOCK MINISTRIES, INC.

Ruthanne Garlock, a Bible teacher and author living near San Antonio, Texas, has a varied background in international ministry. She and her co-author, Quin Sherrer, have written 19 books on prayer, spiritual warfare and related subjects. Ruthanne is passionate about teaching the principles of prayer and spiritual warfare to help equip a new generation of intercessors and spiritual leaders.

A Woman’s Guide to Spiritual Warfare and The Spiritual Warrior’s Prayer Guide, their best-selling titles, have been re-released in revised formats after being on the market for more than 20 years. “This book is strategic in empowering women and men to employ the tools Christ gives believers to win spiritual battles,” said one leader about the Prayer Guide.  “It is a powerful weapon in a Christian’s arsenal.”

Ruthanne also wrote two missions biographies, including Before We Kill and Eat You, the story of her father-in-law’s work among cannibals in Liberia in the 1920’s. Along with her late husband, John, she once served at Continental Theological Seminary in Brussels, Belgium, teaching students from 17 nations. For 23 years they lived in Dallas, where John was an instructor at Christ For The Nations Institute and Ruthanne was a free-lance teacher and writer. Together they traveled and taught leadership training in the U.S. and more than 35 countries.

Since John’s death in 2003, Ruthanne continues the work of Garlock Ministries through her teaching and writing, and raising funds to provide education for more than 100 orphans in a remote province of Zimbabwe. She’s had John’s book, Keys to Better Preaching, translated into ten languages for use in training pastors in many of the nations where they have ministered, or where former students are now working.

Ruthanne holds a B.A. degree in Bible and religious education from Central Bible College, Springfield, MO. She is ordained by World Ministry Fellowship, and serves on this group’s Ordination Council.

As a guest instructor at Two Rivers Native American Training Center near Tulsa, OK, she teaches principles of spiritual warfare for their SWAT program (Strategic Warriors At Training). One of the dorms on the Two Rivers campus is named “Garlock House” in memory of her husband.

Ruthanne has three children and four adult grandchildren.

We all face a trial or a tribulation from time to time. Jada and her girlfriends know this all too well. Sometimes we hide our hurts and pains from family and friends behind temporary fixes such as, luxury automobiles, extravagant homes, expensive jewelry, alcohol and drugs, relationships and sex that often don’t last long.

Some heartaches like domestic violence, betrayal and deceit are too painful to disclose. The shame, struggles and sadness become too much to bare alone, but who can you share your misery with? Who can you trust? Who will hold your hand?

When personal tragedies hit, Jada and her friends lean on one another more than ever. The sisters and friends learn to trust the Lord and face their own Hidden Pains through unshakeable faith, prayer and love for one another.

J. Miller White is a graduate of NTSU with a degree in Criminal Justice. She has worked in the criminal justice arena for over twenty-five years.  She lives in Baton Rouge, LA with her husband and son.  She is an avid reader and sports fan.
